Prime Minister Narendra Modi loves having vegetarian food. Also, he is very fond of the native vegetables of the country. On the first anniversary of the Fit India Movement in 2020, in a nationwide online session, PM Modi revealed having a paratha made of drumsticks. In the interactive session, he revealed that he still eats it once or twice a week.

Ever since this discussion, everyone has been interested in the new paratha revealed by PM Modi.

Paratha is an integral part of the Indian diet. Be it summer or winter, in majority of the households paratha is a staple breakfast. It is consumed either with dahi or butter.

Let's see how we can prepare PM Modi's favorite immunity-boosting moringa paratha.

Moringa has different names in different parts of the country. While the Hindi-speaking natives call it Sahjan, Odias call it Sajanaa. It is rich in anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and helps control asthma, cough, and respiratory issues. The leaves of this tree are said to be a natural tonic for those having high blood pressure.

To prepare moringa paratha, you can either use the leaves or the drumsticks; pick anything to prepare the paratha as per its availability.

If you have moringa leaves, then boil it properly. Let it cool down properly. Add wheat flour, carom seeds, salt, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, green chillies and knead a smooth dough. Now make small balls out of it and roll it flat. Cook both the sides of the paratha with ghee or oil.

If you have drumsticks, chop it properly. Boil it and let it cool down. Using a strainer, separate the pulp from the skin of the drumsticks. To this pulp add wheat flour, carom seeds, salt, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, green chillies and knead a smooth dough.
