Plumber explains why hot and cold taps always have to be in same position

A plumber has shared why the hot tap and cold tap must always be in the same position.

Fraser Hoehle explained all in a video that has since gone viral on TikTok. He says the hot tap is always on the left and cold tap is on the right.

Fraser explained: "It stops young kids scolding their hands. And in basins and kitchen sinks and stuff like that, the hot’s on the left and cold’s on the right and it’s for blind people so they always know.”

He added: "But there are people who f*** that up." The video has subsequently gone viral, being shared widely by social media users, Birmingham Live reports.

TikTok users rushed to have their say in reply to his revelation. One replied saying: "I knew that hot on the left was for blind folk, but never knew about it being different for a bath! Learn something new every day."

A second said "When I first moved into my new build the plumbers had the taps marked correct but the hot was on the cold and cold on the hot." And another chimed in with: "I’m not a plumber or anything but my dad always taught me this growing up. However my house is back to front."
