Plans in for luxury four-star hotel close to Everton's new Bramley Moore Dock stadium

Plans are in for a luxury four-star hotel located close to Everton's new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

The proposals would see the old IBS warehousing buildings, on Waterloo Road, in Ten Streets, demolished with two new buildings constructed, consisting of a 190-bed hotel, which does not yet have a name.

They were submitted by developer Fast Growth Homes Limited to Liverpool City Council last week, who said it could be the "last part of the waterfront jigsaw".

A spokesman for the developers said: "I believe the planning permission for a four-star 190-bedroom hotel will be a major step in the right direction to help kickstart the regeneration.

"With Liverpool Water s rising from the dockside and the announcement of the Everton arena, the momentum is gaining pace."

He added that Ten Streets is the "last little area" of Liverpool's North Docks that needed to be given "a proverbial kick up the backside to get going", adding: "That whole area you are going to see up turned up. It's going to be immense.

"We are speaking with a number of developers to go in for a joint venture. The first step is to get it through planning."

Developers hope they can get the building, which is between Porter Street and Regent Street, completed by 2022.

If plans are approved, the development, around a half a mile from the site of Premier League side's new stadium , would also include 224sq m of office space, with 21 parking spaces and cycle storage.

What Everton fans think of new stadium plans:

The spokesman said he expected Liverpool Waters to become the "Canary Wharf of the North", bringing in wealth and jobs to that part of the city.

He added: "This can only be beneficial to the area, bringing employment and hopefully close ties to both the community and the football club.

"These are exciting times for this part of Liverpool. I believe the submission of planning for the hotel and the Everton arena will kick start the Ten Streets regeneration, as this is probably the last part of the waterfront jigsaw."
