When flying on a plane, everyone has those seats that they'd prefer to be sat in for their journey - whether that's the window, middle or aisle.
Most airlines now charge you for booking a seat, but some don't have any reserved seating at all, meaning it's a free-for-all when all the passengers climb on board.
And one person has been left fuming after they boarded their flight and sat themselves down in their preferred aisle seat, which was then swiftly stolen by another woman who refused to give it up again.
The Mirror reports that they took to Reddit's Stolen Seats forum to write: "I was on an airline with first-come first-serve seats. All windows were taken, so I sat in an aisle.
"A woman came up to me and motioned for me to scoot over. I told her I have the aisle, she will have to take the middle.
"I realised she was too big to squeeze passed me, so I got up, and she just plopped down in my seat, and I had to squeeze by her to sit in the middle seat. She then looked smug and ignored me for the rest of the flight."
They admitted that "this was years ago" but it "still bothers" them - but were seeking advice on how to handle things like that in the future "without causing an embarrassing scene."
They concluded: "I could have called the attendant I suppose, but it would have been my word against hers. I've never flown with that airline since."
The thread's comments were soon full of people sympathising with the original poster, and saying what they would have done in that situation.
One wrote: "I would get up and go to the bathroom every ten minutes until she begged to switch back. And if she ever didn't let me up, I would raise holy hell."
"I would've 'accidentally' spilled my very sticky drink on her", someone fumed.
Another joked: "I would have sat on her lap."
A Redditor recommended: "I wouldn't have taken the middle seat. I would have stood there in the way until she moved over, and if that didn't work, called the flight attendant over.
"And all my stuff would have been under the seat in front, in the seatback, etc, so it would have been obvious I had been settled in there. Sorry, that happened, though, that sucks."
