There is to be a special meeting of Plaid Cymru's ruling body as Adam Price's future as leader hangs in the balance. A spokesperson for the party confirmed that Mr Price has called a meeting of the party's NEC, where the next steps for the party will be discussed.
It comes after reports suggested that Mr Price wanted to resign from his role. Mr Price's position as leader of the party has been brought into question after a damning new report into the party's leadership and procedures was released last week.
The party's National Executive Committee (NEC) and Mr Price jointly commissioned the former Plaid Cymru Assembly Member, Nerys Evans, to look into the party's culture. The report found that, among other issues, the party had failed to implement a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment.

The report is damning of the party leadership and makes 82 recommendations, all of which the party leadership have accepted and taken on board. In an interview with WalesOnline following the publication of the report however, Mr Price refused to resign. He apologised and said he wanted to fix the issues. However, it appears his position as leader of the party is becoming increasingly vulnerable. On ITV's Sharp End programme, senior Welsh politician Llyr Gruffydd MS for the north Wales region and Senedd Plaid group chair, was unable to say whether he thought Mr Price would be in the post next week. On top of this, he refused to say if Mr Price had the support of the party group.
Meanwhile, Nation.Cymru reported on Tuesday evening that Mr Price had agreed to step down as leader of Plaid Cymru. The website said that they understood that the leader wanted to step down as soon as possible, but that other party members were seeking an organised handover.
On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the party confirmed that a meeting had taken place yesterday evening to discuss the implementation of the recommendations presented in the report, Prosiect Pawb. They also confirmed that another meeting was set to take place, where they would discuss the party's next steps moving forward.
In a statement on Wednesday, the spokesperson for Plaid Cymru said: "Last night, the Plaid Cymru Senedd Group met to discuss the implementation of the recommendations of the Prosiect Pawb report. Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price has subsequently called a special meeting of the NEC where the next steps for the party will be discussed. Plaid Cymru’s priority remains the well-being of its staff and members, and fostering a culture which is safe, inclusive and respectful to all."
