Pizza Hut insider leaks secret buffet hacks to help get you best value for money

Even when it's only £7.99, there's no point paying for an unlimited buffet if all you plan to eat is garlic bread and tomato pasta.

To help you optimise the unlimited buffet bar at Pizza Hut, we've tracked down some inside knowledge from a Pizza Hut employee to share all the secrets and hacks they've witnessed from customers at the all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta and salad station.

So even if you've nailed not eating all day and working through your plate as fast as possible, a few extra pointers never hurt anyone when it comes to getting the best value for money.

The seven hacks also coincide with the news that Pizza Hut's iconic unlimited lunchtime buffet will now be - although you will need to pay a few extra quid if you're going on a Saturday and Sunday, meaning it's even more important than ever to get your money's worth...

Personalise your pizza

Take your buffet experience to the next level and experiment with something from the salad bar such as our favourite garnish: bacon bits.

Put them on top of your pizza and pasta and thank us later. Because bacon makes everything better.

If you're feeling even more adventurous than just bacon bits, why not go Tex-Mex and top with tortilla chips, jalapenos and perhaps a drizzle of ranch salad dressing? The options are endless.

Pizza Sandwich

Turn any average pizza slice into a calzone for the ultimate lunchtime treat - just simply grab two of your favourite slices from the buffet and make the perfect pizza sandwich, perhaps adding a few leaves from the salad bar on your way to the table. Plus, double stacking slices on top of each other means you can fit more on your plate...

Eat with your family

If the all-you-can-eat offer wasn't enough, you can also add other items onto the bundle to save even more money.

For example, if you have kids you can pay £8.99 to include a drink and an ice cream with the Kids Buffet as a weekend treat.

If you're an adult, it will cost you £14.99 to do the same though, so it may be worth sticking to the savoury stuff and swiping a scoop of your kids' portion when they're not looking...

Opt for the expensive stuff

Steer clear of red herrings like garlic bread and plain tomato pasta which are cheap to make and fill you up fast.

Re-creating some of the generous salads they offer at home can set you back at least £7.99, so make sure you grab a bowl (or three) of their fresh vegetables with lots of peppers, sweetcorn, beetroot and crispy onions to get your money's worth and your five a day in for free.

Plus, you'll still have lots of room left for the pizza and pasta, trust me... where you should opt for anything with a lot of protein in, such a meat feasts.

Get creative at the salad bar

There's 25 different items in total on the salad bar, working out at 33,554,432 possible combinations, as confirmed by Countdown’s very own Rachel Riley.

It's a great way to get the little ones interesting making their own food, and for you to eat vegetables you'd never usually buy.

Wear the right clothing

Anything with pockets, ideally, in case you're brave enough to take any bits you couldn't force down home. But definitely something loose and comfy - and never, ever jeans.

Turn up the heat

In another sideline offer, Pizza Hut will let you add a side of Jalapeno Poppers to your unlimited lunchtime buffet for £3.49 - a saving of £2.
