Pistons win third straight, block out Suns, 131-107

DETROIT _ The Detroit Pistons are in the midst of likely their toughest stretch of the season.

The stretch features nine road games out of 14. Almost every team is a playoff contender. The Phoenix Suns don't have such aspirations. And the Pistons took care of business Wednesday night.

They ran up a 36-point lead in the second half and cruised to an easy 131-107 victory at Little Caesars Arena.

Reggie Jackson led the laugher with 23 points and five assists, as the Pistons (14-6) have now won three straight.

Andre Drummond had 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley each scored 20. Six Pistons scored in double figures with Ish Smith (14 points) and Luke Kennard (12 points) reaching the mark. Devin Booker led the Suns (8-15) with 22 points.

The Pistons are off to a 4-3 start in the tough 14-game stretch.

Booker, a 2015 draft classmate of Stanley Johnson, came into the game averaging 23 points per game.

He's considered one of the best young prospects in the game in his third season and part of his reputation came from scoring 70 points in a game against the Boston Celtics, Bradley's former team.

Bradley didn't play that evening because of illness, but started the game on Wednesday night chest-to-chest with Booker every time he touched the basketball.

He forced two Booker turnovers in the first 2 minutes.

Suns rookie Josh Jackson, who starred a Detroit Consortium before transferring to California after his sophomore season, didn't start, but finished with 20 points and seven rebounds.

After not playing in the Suns victory at Chicago on Wednesday night, former Piston first-round pick Greg Monroe received the start. He finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

He was recently traded to the Suns from the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eric Bledsoe trade.
