Piers Morgan storms off GMB after row with Alex Beresford over his 'diabolical' behaviour

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan walked off the set of the ITV show on Tuesday after Alex Beresford slammed him for his 'diabolical' behaviour.

After the pair clashed on Twitter last week over Harry and Meghan, with Alex then accusing Piers off being "off the mark" with his rant against the couple's Oprah interview on Monday's show, the two were forced to share the same space 24 hour later and things didn't go too well.

Addressing the couple's treatment by the press, Piers said said that senior members of the royal family "get a much fairer crack of the whip" these days than they did in the "Diana era" when "it got out of hand".

Moving onto the death of Harry's mother, Piers added: "William went through the same thing and he's managed to come to terms with the media and he works with the media".

However, Alex responded: "There was bad press around the engagement... and everything that has followed since," before saying it was obvious Piers "didn't like Meghan," in reference to claims made by Piers last week that she "ditched him like a sack of spuds."

He told Piers: "She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to," before accusing him of "continuing to trash her," as Piers got out of his seat and stormed off camera, saying: "I'm done with this,".

Alex then shouted: "Do you know what? That's pathetic," before Piers could be heard saying: "Sorry, can't do this."

As the camera cut back to Alex, he responded: "This is absolutely diabolical behaviour."

Taken aback, co-host Susanna Reid cut to an advertising break after which Piers returned to his desk and hit out at Alex's "personally derogatory monologue aimed at one of your colleagues", to which Alex said that wasn't the intention, telling Piers he needed to be "aware of the power of your words".
