Piers Morgan hit out at 'fake friends' as he revealed pals had deserted him over his sudden departure from Good Morning Britain.
The announcement was made by ITV following a wave of controversy that saw Morgan blasted by mental health charity Mind and rack up a record 41,000 Ofcom complaints over comments about Meghan Markle.
As it was revealed Tuesday's drama-filled episode of GMB would be Piers' last, Sharon Osbourne was one of the first celebs to publicly back him.
"I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth," said the former X Factor judge.

As an ITV source revealed this evening that Piers was 'pushed' from his ITV daytime role, Piers retweeted Sharon's supportive message.
He wrote alongside it: "When stuff like this happens, true friends run towards you, fake friends run away. I love Sharon Osbourne because she always stays true to herself. She knew she would get abused by the woke brigade for tweeting this - but did it anyway because it what she believes."
Sharon, who has been a friend of Morgan's for many years also spoke out to defend him on US chat show The Talk.

She told her co-host Sheryl Underwood, who looked to be on the verge of tears during the debate, to 'educate' her as to why Morgan was being accused of racism over his treatment of the Duchess of Sussex.
"You tell me where you have heard him say, educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things," demanded Sharon.
"It is not the exact words of racism. It is the implication and the reaction to it," replied Underwood.
"She is a black woman and to try and dismiss it or to make it seem less than it is that's what makes it racist," she added.
Gary Lineker had previously come under huge scrutiny for reaching out to Piers as his exit was confirmed.

The Match of the Day host tweeted: "Whether it’s a football manager, a television presenter or any profession for that matter, it’s always sad when someone loses their job.
"@piersmorgan is excellent at what he does and I’m sure he’ll be back on the telly soon."
The comment immediately riled Gary's social media followers with one replying: "What the hell are you talking about???? This man made a mockery of someone’s suicidal ideation. Use your brain Gary there is a reason he lost his job it’s because he’s a bully."
"You should’ve sat there and ate your crisps," said another.
Another replied: "He quit Gary, after harassing a woman for years under the guise of public interest and accusing her of lying about being suicidal and having mental health struggles."
