Piers Morgan promises 'lively' Good Morning Britain as he sets return date

Piers Morgan fans have been at a bit of a lose end this week after he took some time away from Good Morning Britain.

The controversial presenter and his co-host Susanna Reid announced they were taking the week off - which would usually be the half-term break - because it has been a "long old haul" reporting on coronavirus news.

While some people have been glad of the quiet break, others can't wait for Piers to make a return.

And he has now promised that it will be 'lively' from Monday when he, Susanna and Dr Hilary Jones all make their way back to the ITV show.

When asked for his return date on Twitter, Piers replied: "I'll be back Monday with @susannareid100 & I suspect we're going to have a very lively show."

The pair have also appeared in a new advert to promote their comeback in which they say be "demanding the truth" and not letting people "off the hook" in a subtle dig at the Dominic Cummings saga.

Susanna begins the advert by saying: "On the questions you need to have answered..."

A picture of a man in a face mask is shown on screen holding up a sign saying: "Why are you above the law?"

Piers continued as a picture of No. 10 was shown: "Do you think we should let those in power off the hook?"

Susanna added: "Stop holding their decisions to account?"

"And give up asking questions to find out the truth?" Piers continued, before he was seen sitting at the GMB desk. "No, we didn't think so."

Despite not being on air, Piers has remained very vocal online about this weeks events.

So we don't doubt that Monday will be a lively show.

Good Morning Britain continues with Piers and Susanna on Monday, June 1, from 6am on ITV.
