Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang loves what two Arsenal Under-23 players did during win over Monaco

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took to social media with a message for two of Arsenal's Under-23 side, after they reached the Premier League International Cup semi-final.

Steve Bould's youngsters beat Monaco 4-3 at Boreham Wood to seal their place in the last four of the competition, with two goals apiece from Zech Medley and Folarin Balogun.

But it was a celebration for one of Medley's goals which got Aubameyang's attention, after the defender posted a picture online after the match.

Taking to his Instagram story, Medley uploaded a snap of himself celebrating with fellow defender Harry Clarke.

Arsenal's Under-23 side will discover their opponents for the semi-final when the draw is made at a later date.

Bould’s side next face Tottenham in Premier League 2 north London derby at Meadow Park next Friday.

Meanwhile, the senior Gunners team are preparing for a derby of their own, when they welcome West Ham to the Emirates on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta's side sit 10th in the Premier League table, eight points off fourth placed Chelsea, so victory is a must if they are to hunt down a top four place this season.

Speaking after the 2-0 FA Cup win over Portsmouth on Monday night, Arteta praised his team's performance at Fratton Park.

"To come here, to this stadium, with seven under-23 players, and to dominate completely is a little bit unrealistic but we went through that moment [at the start] and after that we started to take the ball and play in the opposition half and dominate the situation much better.

"We scored the goals and should have scored more."
