In pictures: People of Glasgow enjoy the warmest day of the year amid heatwave

SCOTS have been pictured enjoying the sunshine as Friday marked the hottest day of the year so far.

Hot and dry conditions have been seen across much of the country, with the central belt in particular seeing temperatures soar into the high 20s.

Glasgow in particular saw highs of 28C, as people could be seen sunbathing in the Botanic Gardens and enjoying drinks in pub gardens.

While temperatures are set to drop slightly on Saturday, similar conditions are expected.
