The Boston Celtics made the trip to Minneapolis to defend their five-game undefeated streak to start the NBA’s 2023-24 season and met stiffer resistance than many expected from the Minnesota Timberwolves early in their road tilt with Anthony Edwards et al.
Boston kept it close throughout, but couldn’t extend their streak to six games, falling 114-109 to the Wolves thanks to 38 points from Anthony Edwards. The league’s top defense held Boston to just 39.1% from the floor overall and just 28.2% from deep, and ended the Celtics’ reign as the last undefeated team in the league as a result.
