The House of Councillors on Friday eased restrictions concerning photos being taken inside the house.
Visitors who join tours of the Diet building are now allowed to take photos of the Emperor's waiting room, called Gokyusho or Emperor's Room, as well as of the central hall of the upper house where bronze statues of elder statesmen of the Meiji era (1868-1912), such as Shigenobu Okuma and Hirobumi Ito, are displayed.
