Philippe Coutinho makes Liverpool admission in response to question about Barcelona future

Philippe Coutinho has opened up on his future and claims he is "grateful" to Liverpool amid continuing Barcelona exit rumours.

The attacking midfielder left Liverpool to sign for Barcelona in January 2018 for £142million. However, he has endured a rough time at the Camp Nou which led to a loan spell at Bayern Munich last season.

Coutinho has been linked with a move to Juventus of late, which can be added to rumours of a return to Liverpool and joining Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the past.

Whilst focused on life at Barcelona right now, the 28-year-old Brazilian has not ruled out the possibility of a return to the Premier League at some point.

Asked if he would consider a return to the Premier League in the future, Coutinho told World Soccer: "The Premier League is one of the most exciting leagues in the world and to have the chance to play there with a team like Liverpool will always be something I will feel grateful for.

"It is impossible to say what might or might not happen in the future - but what I know is that right now my only focus is on being successful with Barcelona."

Coutinho is never far away from speculation about his future but his agent, Kia Joorabchian, has rubbished suggestions his client could be on the move sometime soon.

“I have not heard anything and we have no plans to move from Barca, and yes that Coutinho can contribute to a successful season,"  Joorabchian told Mundo Deportivo.

Meanwhile, Coutinho also touched upon his time at Bayern and explained his focus on Barcelona this season.

"I won three trophies, including the Bundesliga and Champions League, so I don't think it (his time at Bayern) can be anything other than a success. Winning the Champions League has always been a big ambition of mine and to win it with Bayern was a big thing. Now my ambition is to win it with Barcelona.

"I will always remember and be thankful for my time and success there, but I am back with Barcelona now and that is where my focus is."
