Phil Collins buys Jennifer Lopez's onetime Miami Beach mansion for $33 million

June 16--Singer Phil Collins has bought the onetime Miami Beach mansion of Jennifer Lopez for $33 million.

The seller was healthcare exec Mark Gainor and his wife, Elyse, who bought the property from Lopez a decade ago.

The 1.2-acre waterfront estate centers on a renovated 1929 villa with 200 feet of waterfront including a boat dock along Biscayne Bay.

The contemporary European-style mansion is entered through a two-story domed rotunda foyer topped by a skylight. The 12,153 square feet of living space includes a media room, a wine cellar, a gym, seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and three powder rooms.

A courtyard with a koi pond, gardens, palm trees and water-facing swimming pool and spa complete the grounds.

Collins, 64, is known for his solo work and as lead singer and drummer with the group Genesis. The seven-time Grammy winner, who announced his retirement in 2011, is one of the all-time bestselling recording artists.

Actress-dancer-singer Lopez, 45, has been trying to find a buyer for her three-acre estate in the gated Southern California community of Hidden Hills.

Nelson Gonzalez of EWM Realty/Christie's International Real Estate was the listing agent. Mathieu Rochette of Barclay's Real Estate Group represented Collins.
