New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead finally received the props he deserved, being named to the Pro Bowl and AP All-Pro second team. Armstead accomplished that in spite of a torn pectoral muscle that should have ended his season, playing at a high level opposite right tackle Ryan Ramczyk. Armsted joined Ramczyk on the Top 101 Players of 2018 list produced by Pro Football Focus:
Terron Armstead is coming off the second-best pass-blocking season of his career and finished with a pass-blocking grade of 89.3, ranking second among offensive tackles. With only 11 pressures allowed on 329 pass-blocking snaps, Armstead tied for the fourth-best pass-blocking efficiency rating (98.2) at the position.
Even if Armstead was slowed down by his injury, he still showed why the Saints value him so highly. He has few peers in the NFL who can match his combination of refined technique and all-world athleticism, making him one of the best left tackles in football. The only concern with Armstead is the same as it’s ever been: will he ever be able to play a full 16-game season?
