Petr Cech has said that he's not changed his job at Chelsea despite signing for Guildford Phoenix.
The former goalkeeper took on the role of technical and performance advisor at Stamford Bridge after hanging up his gloves in the summer following a four-year spell with London rivals Arsenal.
But the Blues legend hasn't retired from playing sports.
On Wednesday it was announced that Cech has completed a rather surprise move to British Ice Hockey side Guildford Phoenix as a netminder.
A move which has prompted some Chelsea fans to question what this means for the 37-year-old and his role at the Bridge.
Taking to social media, Cech has attempted to clear up any confusion.
"Some people seem to think I changed by job. No I didn't" he tweeted. "Luckily my job as the Technical and Performance adviser at Chelsea FC doesn't stop me in my spare time from playing the game I loved as a kid and which I've been playing for years.
"While being (a) professional football I couldn't play the games for obvious reason...
"Now I can."
A statement on the Chelsea club website said: "It has been announced on Wednesday evening that our former goalkeeper and current technical and performance advisor Petr Cech is to play competitive ice hockey.
"The 37-year-old will play as goalie (netminder) for Guildford Phoenix which is located close to where Cech lives.
"When his Chelsea Football Club schedule allows, he is ready to help them in their league games."
Cech has also expressed his excitement at playing for Guildford Phoenix.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to play with the Phoenix to get the match experience," he told the Guildford Phoenix website .
"I hope I can help this young team to achieve their goals for the season and try to win as many games as possible when I have the chance to play.
"After 20 years of professional football this is going to be a wonderful experience for me to play the game I loved to watch and play as a kid."
