Peter Kay teases return of much-loved TV series Car Share

Peter Kay has given fans of Car Share hope that it may return for a Christmas special.

Six million people tuned into the show's finale in 2018 and ever since, viewers have been left wanting more.

During his first gig in four years, the Bolton funnyman was asked whether he would consider filming a one-off episode of the BBC comedy.

He told the crowd that he "might do", reports The Mirror.

Peter, 48, said: "Of all the things I’ve ever done, that’s my favourite of all. I love being with Sian [Gibson] and we had a good laugh.”

He added filming inside a car with Covid restrictions would be "a lot of work".

During the special Q&A show, Peter said he had written two episodes of Max and Paddy that he may choose to make now.

He told how he loved filming the series, adding: "It was one of the best times."

Fans at Manchester’s O2 Apollo were delighted at Peter’s return for two shows on Saturday to raise money for Laura Nuttall, 20, who has aggressive brain cancer glioblastoma multiforme.

He took questions submitted by the audience at the gigs that sold out in 30 minutes.

Fan John Bohan, from Wirral, Merseyside, said it was the comic’s best performance.

Laura, who was in the audience, was initially given 12 to 18 months to live when diagnosed aged 18 but fundraising paid for immunotherapy treatment in Germany.

Her sister Gracie introduced Peter on stage and said the family were grateful to the audience for “potentially saving my sister’s life”.

Hundreds of fans queued in the rain to see the comic who cancelled his last tour in 2017, citing “unforeseen family circumstances”.
