Peter Kay is 'blown away' by ticket sales and makes dig at Matt Hancock

Peter Kay has tweeted via his official Twitter account thanking his fans for purchasing tickets to his tour.

In true Peter Kay fashion, the lighthearted tweet thanked fans and also took a dig at politician Matt Hancock, who is currently a contestant on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Fans of the comedian were quick to share their excitement in response.

Tickets to his show at the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena sold out in less than 30 minutes, and Peter Kay has been adding extra dates to certain venues throughout the day due to high demand. He now has a whopping 100 dates spanning across 2022-2025, with 38 of those in Manchester.

The tweet read: "THANK YOU!! Absolutely blown away by the ticket sales so far, especially as some of the shows aren't for a good while yet but don't worry we'll have a laugh when we're all together. Much love, Peter. P.S Matt Hancock IS a proper b**-end."

Some Peter Kay fans were left feeling 'annoyed' after missing out on the highly anticipated tickets this morning, which went on sale at 10am. Fans of the comedian have taken to Twitter, claiming it was 'impossible' to snap up tickets.

One Peter Kay fan took to Twitter and said: "SO ANNOYING!! there were two Liverpool dates and it holds 11,000 a time so 22,000 tickets gone in 13 minutes to 1400 people!! rude! just but the number of tickets you need xx"

In response to the extraordinary demand, Ticketmaster announced this morning that Peter has added a number of extra dates to his Manchester shows. The new dates are:
