Person 'trapped inside bus' following crash with truck on N2 in Co Monaghan

A person has been trapped inside a bus following a collision with a truck in Co Monaghan, it has emerged.

Emergency services have rushed to the scene on the N2 just outside Castleblayney at the Ballybay exit.

It's believed up to 30 people were onboard the bus as it crashed with the truck on Thursday morning.

A garda spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror three people have been rushed to hospital with minor injuries.

Gardai also say one individual remains trapped in the vehicle, it has been reported.

It's understood the vehicle involved is not a school bus. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

The spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred on the N2 outside Castleblayney, Co Monaghan today, 14th November 2019, involving a truck and a bus.

"It’s understood 3 persons have been taken to hospital with minor injuries."
