Person taken to hospital after house fire in Maesteg

A person has been hospitalised after a house fire in Maesteg.

Firefighters were alerted to a fire at a property on Maesteg Road in Cwmfelin, Maesteg at around 11.22pm on Friday, February 18. Several crews attended the scene.

The Welsh Ambulance Service also attended and one patient was taken for further treatment.

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue said: "At approximately 11.22pm on Friday the 18 th of February, we received reports of a fire in Cwmfelin, Maesteg.

"Multiple crews attended the scene and used specialist equipment to extinguish the fire.

"The incident concluded at approximately 1.18am on Saturday the 19 th of February."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 23:50hrs on Friday 18 February to reports of an injured person following a domestic fire at a property in Maesteg.

"We responded with one emergency ambulance and one patient was taken to Prince of Wales hospital for further treatment."
