Person rushed to hospital after attack in Edinburgh as cops seal off scene

A person was rushed to hospital after an attack and robbery in Edinburgh as cops were seen sealing off the scene.

Emergency services raced to George Square on Saturday, November 6, at around 5:30pm after the alarm was raised.

A person had been subjected to an 'assault and robbery' near the university, reports Edinburgh Live.

The victim was rushed to hospital following the incident.

Pictures from the scene showed cops putting up a police cordon as enquiries were carried out.

Another photo showed a cop van parked near where the incident took place.

Police have confirmed they have now launched a full investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a report of robbery and assault that occurred at George Square, Edinburgh, around 5.35pm on Saturday, 6 November.

"One person was taken to hospital following the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
