Person hospitalised after fire crews called to crash in Nottinghamshire

Fire crews were called to a crash where a person had to be freed from their car and taken to hospital. The incident took place on Friday, April 22 and Newark fire station along with Southwell fire station were called to the scene.

There they had to extract one casualty from their vehicle before they were taken to hospital by ambulance crews who were also called out to help. Pictures taken from the road showed the damage done to one of the vehicles, which had gone off the road and was severely dented on one side. A heavy goods vehicle was also involved, suffering damage to its front.

A spokesperson for Southwell Fire Station said: "Busy day for Southwell Fire Station. This morning our crew were mobilised to an RTC with the assistance of Newark Fire Station the casualty was extracted from the vehicle and transported to hospital by the East Midlands Ambulance Service."
