A person was arrested after reports of gunfire Monday near the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.
Chicago police said officers responded to the hospital near Taylor Street and Damen Avenue about 2:40 p.m. for reports of shots fired. A person was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered.
Unconfirmed police radio dispatches indicated the man had a rifle.
No injuries were reported, police said.
An operator at the hospital declined to answer questions about the situation Monday afternoon.
