You can now automate repetitive boring web workflows with simple natural language prompts and access them with a /command anywhere

With Comet Shortcuts, you can create and trigger automated workflows in the browser using a /command from anywhere on the platform. This means actions like pulling data from websites, submitting forms, or navigating specific pages can now be simplified into reusable, prompt-based shortcuts.
Interestingly, people who have access to Comet are already using the new Shortcut feature, and the early response seems quite positive. One finance professional shared how their shortcut automatically pulls upcoming earnings data, historical financials, and analyst sentiment and turns it all into a complete report with a single command. Another user used the feature to auto-generate replies based on the content of the current page. And some are using it to save time by automating repetitive online tasks.
The new feature aside, many early users are already impressed by the Comet in general. It’s positioned as a hybrid tool combining AI search with practical web automation. One user recently shared how they asked Comet to go through their Gmail inbox, find all their subscriptions, and then unsubscribe from the ones they no longer wanted.
However, Perplexity is not the only one in this race of AI browsers anymore. Recently, Microsoft announced the Copilot Mode for the Edge browser, which also helps you navigate, compare, and take action across tabs. Though it’s still in the experimental phase and not available to everyone.
I am not sure how these AI browsers will stick with the masses. But one thing is clear: AI enthusiasts have so far positive things to say about this new way of browsing on the internet. Nonetheless, I will surely be keeping an eye on all the upcoming updates. To stay updated on the latest tech and AI news, subscribe to our WhatsApp channel for exclusive insights, reviews, and more.
