Performance poet Sam Browne reads ‘Love is the Running Towards’ for Celebration Day

The poet Sam Browne reads an original work titled “Love is the Running Towards” for his friends Oscar and Harry, both of whom lost someone close to them. “Poetry in many ways is the pueIt’s to the people who helped me find beauty within the pain and have helped me to keep going so that I can pass that on to everyone else,” Browne says. The short film, directed by Oliver Parker and shot at Dr Johnson’s House in London, is part of a series to commemorate Celebration Day – a nationwide movement that encourages Brits to take a moment and remember those we have lost who have shaped our lives. Curated by Allie Esiri, the films will be published exclusively on The Independent in the lead-up to Celebration Day on Monday 25 May.
