Peppa Pig’s family have opened up about the birth of baby Evie.
The cartoon pigs welcomed a little one yesterday - a baby sister to Peppa, four, George, two - at London’s Lindo Wing, the same luxury maternity ward where the Princess of Wales gave birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
And now, Mummy and Daddy Pig have spoken about the arrival to Hello Magazine, revealing that the birth took eight hours.
“We were very lucky – everything went smoothly and in eight, um, ‘short’ hours of labour Evie was here,” Mummy Pig said.

“Mummy pig was AMAZING, and she brought our new baby girl into the world,” Daddy Pig added.
“What a miracle that is!”
On Tuesday morning’s Good Morning Britain, it was revealed that Mummy Pig welcomed a daughter named Evie, marking the first new addition to the animated family since Peppa’s younger brother George was introduced 20 years ago.
“I don't think either of us ever had a specific plan – but we just got to that place where timing felt right,” Mummy Pig told Hello about adding to their brood.
Daddy Pig agreed, adding: “And everything fell into place. We're very lucky to be able to grow our family.”
In the interview, the pigs also revealed baby Evie was named after Mummy Pig’s great aunt.
The birth announcement follows weeks of carefully orchestrated build-up, beginning with Mummy Pig’s surprise pregnancy revelation live on GMB back in February.
The excitement reached fever pitch last month during a pink-themed gender reveal celebration at London’s Battersea Power Station, where the famous chimneys lit up in honour of the new baby girl.
According to GMB, Evie arrived at 5:34am in the exclusive Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.
In keeping with the royal theme, the birth was announced with a town crier, scroll-style proclamation and a Peppa-branded birth certificate.
Mummy Pig, known to younger audiences for her "very important work" on her computer, is said to be resting, while Daddy Pig, who typically "takes big numbers, transmutes them and calculates their load-bearing tangents," is expected to give his first-ever television interview next week, complete with a baby Evie appearance.
Big siblings Peppa and George are reportedly “over the moon” about their little sister, with the Pig family looking forward to “lots of happy snorts and sleepless nights.”
All new episodes of Peppa Pig will be launching on Milkshake from September.
