Pep Guardiola gives Man City injury updates on Ederson, Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte

Ederson will return to the Manchester City team for tomorrow’s Premier League crunch against Chelsea.

The Brazil international is back in training after a hamstring problem which kept him out of the Liverpool clash.

But he has returned without any problems – and with David Silva also available again, the Blues’ injury problems are easing.

Ederson injured his hamstring in the Champions League group game at Atalanta, limping off at half time to be replaced by Claudio Bravo – who was then sent off as the Blues held out for a 1-1 draw.

The keeper was ruled out of the top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool nearly a fortnight ago, with Bravo standing in as City lost 3-1 to open a nine-point lead at the head of the table.

But he has returned to training during the international break, and Guardiola said: “He has been training the last two or three days without pain."

David Silva also missed that game, although he made the substitutes’ bench, after picking up a muscle injury in the win over Southampton.

Guardiola was also asked to give an update on Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte, both out with long-term knee ligament injuries and replied: "Injured two or three more months".

The Blues will be without Bernardo Silva, who will serve a one-match suspension.
