People left baffled as Paisley man strapped chest of drawers and mirror to roof of car to drive home

Shoppers at the Linwod Retail Park were left baffled as they watched a man strap a huge chest of drawers and mirror to the roof of his car.

Residents in Paisley looked on in astonishment as the driver attempted to transport the furniture home.

Much to everyone's dismay the inventive motorist successfully moved his new purchase.

Some praised the man's efforts on social media.

The picture taker wrote: "This isn't dumb in the slightest and we all doubted him! This guy deserves a round of applause and a few pints for his effort."

The post garnered hundreds of likes and comments.

He managed to bring the furniture home unscathed (Steven Drummond)

One commenter complimented the man's securing skills: "We drove behind him all the way and were impressed by how secure it was. Well done."

Others looked to give the driver some advice on the way he packed up the furniture.

One Facebook user said: "Would have laid it flat but where there is a will there is a way."
