People delivering food robbed at gunpoint on the South Side: police

Both robberies happened between the 6600 and 7300 blocks of South St. Lawrence Avenue.

Police are warning businesses after robberies targeted people delivering food earlier this month in Park Manor and Woodlawn on the South Side.

In both cases, when the person arrived to their destination, they were met by three males who produced a handgun and announced a robbery, Chicago police said in an alert.

The first robbery happened about 9:40 p.m. June 6 in the 7300 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, police said. The other was about 9:30 p.m. June 18 in the 6600 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue.

The males are described at 17 to 21-years old, police said. One was wearing a mask.

Anyone with information about the robberies should contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
