A Dublin local election candidate was injured after he fell while fixing a campaign poster over the weekend.
People Before Profit's Bernard Mulvany had climbed a tall ladder on the seafront in Clontarf to secure a poster that he feared may cause injury to the public.
Mr Mulvany fell and hit his head and was taken to the Mater Hospital where he is still recovering.
He said he has little memory of the incident and said his accident highlights the dangers of putting up election posters, Dublin Live reports.
The unfortunate said: “For parties with less funds, we have to rely on ourselves to put up our posters on lamp posts.
