People are absolutely loving the new Colm Meaney inspired electrical box art in Dublin suburb

People travelling in from Whitehall to Dublin City centre will have noticed a stunning electrical box featuring actor Colm Meaney.

From Alan Partridge to Star Trek, from 'snip snip' to 'ah jaysus' in the Barrytown trilogy, Meaney is one of the most beloved stars of screen that we have.

As his career on stage and screen enters a fifth decade, an artist has now paid tribute in a pretty special way.

Electrical boxes have been painted across the country for the last few years, with the likes of Aslan and Luke Kelly having boxes in the capital, with John Caulfield and the Frank and Walters getting them in Cork.

But at the junction of Collins Avenue and the Swords Road, you'll now see this piece of genius, painted by Liam Robinson (who you can follow here).

The artwork was posted to the Ireland page on Reddit, and people were full of praise for the new piece of work.

One user said: "Love it !....am actually gonna buy a pack of meanies later on now !"

Another added: "This was the talk of my work WhatsApp group on Saturday morning, well done."

While a third said: "I drove by this last week in Whitehall, absolutely love it! One of the best I've seen around. Kudos to the artist"
