A 68 year-old man has been left injured after he was seriously assaulted in Paisley.
The victim was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries to his face.
The incident happened in the Braehead Road area in Paisley on Monday, May 15 between 5pm and 5.30pm.
Police are appealing for information which may be able to help their ongoing investigations.
They are keen to speak with two people in particular who they believe are able to assist. A white male, aged in his 30's, 6ft tall with short brown hair. As well as a female described as being 30 years-old with black shoulder length hair, she was also with a child.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police in Paisley are appealing for information following the serious assault of a man.
"The incident happened between 5pm and 5.30pm on Monday, 15 May, 2023, in the Braehead Road area, Paisley.
"The victim, a 68-year-old man, sustained injuries to his face and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
"Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch. This area has lots of shops and would have been busy at the time.
"We are keen to talk to two people who may be able to help with our enquiries. In particular, a white male aged in his 30's, 6ft tall with short brown hair.
"We are also looking to trace a female described as around 30 years old with black shoulder length hair. She was with a child."
Anyone who witnessed this assault or has dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2918 of 15 May, 2023.
