A retired resident in north Dublin is making a few extra bucks from the shortage of parking at Dublin Airport by allowing people to park in her front driveway.
Lynda Lawlor has a large driveway at her Santry home and in 2019, when she was retiring, she decided to look into renting it out. While it wasn't as busy then due to Covid grinding flights to a halt, she expects business to pick up now, Dublin Live reports.
Holidaymakers can park in Lynda's drive for just €7.15 a day - or €50 a week which is half of what you would pay at the airport. Customers have the benefit of two nearby bus services, one of which goes all day and night.

The two spaces in front of her home are available through the Parkpnp website.
She told Dublin Live: "I don't think people are aware of it at all. I was retiring in 2019 and we have a large drive - it is wide and it is long. We are on the main Swords Road which goes up to the airport.
"Some of my sons said I should look at renting out a couple of spots and you might make a few bob. I Googled to investigate and I came upon Parkpnp."
She noted that although nothing happened during Covid, things began opening up again and requests started flying in then all of a sudden.
"It was people going to the airport. People were coming up from the country, using the facility and then collecting it at all hours of the morning. I don't have to do anything really. I don't have to talk to them or anything like that."
She remarked that her parking spaces have been "tipping over" and are "starting to build up a little more".
