Pensioner left 'shaken' after masked thug broke into home and demanded cash

A pensioner has been left shaken after an attempted robbery within his own home in Falkirk.

Officers were called to Carmuirs Avenue, Camelon, following the incident just before 8pm last night, Thursday January, 13.

It's understood a mask wearing thug entered the 74-year-old man's house and demanded cash.

He then ran off in the direction of Carmuirs Street.

He's described between 5ft 5ins to 5ft 11ins, of stocky build and was wearing black clothing, a black hat and a black mask.

Detective Sergeant Chris Scott said: "Fortunately no one was injured but a 74-year-old man was left shaken by what has happened.

"We are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time of the incident or has any information to get in touch.

"If you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage that might help with our investigation then please call us."

"Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3119 of Thursday, 13 January, 2022, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111."
