Pensioner dies following Edinburgh road rage clash with another driver

A pensioner has died after becoming involved in a road rage clash with another driver in Edinburgh.

It happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday on Biggar Road when the 69-year-old man collapsed during an argument with another motorist.

He was then taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but later died.

The road was closed for around four hours following the incident and police are now investigating.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 4.30pm on Thursday 26 September police were called after a 69 year-old man took unwell and collapsed following a dispute between him and the male driver of another car on Biggar Road, Edinburgh.

"He was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died. Enquiries are continuing. The road re-opened around 8.30 pm."
