Pellegrini rages at Obiang & former Gunners get some stick - West Ham moments you may have missed

Manuel Pellegrini loses his rag with Pedro Obiang

The Hammers manager is quite a benign figure but he wasn't during injury time as the Hammers held their slender 1-0 lead at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Arthur Masuaku had made an excellent intervention and fed Pedro Obiang down the line and, quite literally, all of the coaching staff jumped to their feet and signalled the Spaniard to boot the ball into the corner. Pellegrini and assistant Ruben Cousillas did too but the substitute midfielder ignored them all.

He played a wild crossfield pass in the general direction of Michail Antonio, who was nowhere near it, and Ben Davies scooped up the ball and launched the attack that led to Fabian Balbuena's outstanding goalline clearance from Vincent Janssen.

Obiang nearly cost West Ham the game with his pass and Pellegrini let him know about it, shouting and jumping up and down on the touchline. The worst thing about what Obiang did was that he did it right in front of his manager.

A complete win, Diop & Balbuena reunited, Arnautovic mending bridges - West Ham talking points

A lack of boos for Lucas Perez

Considering the fact the Spanish striker is a former Arsenal players, either Spurs had forgotten that Perez used to play for their hated rivals (entirely possible) or just didn't care.

Anyway, when Perez entered the fray with ten minutes to go replacing Marko Arnautovic, he emerged to just a small smattering of boos from the home faithful.

Not quite the same for Jack Wilshere though...

The Spurs fans did remember that Wilshere used to play for Arsenal and they certainly let him know about it when the midfielder went to warm up early during the second half - Wilshere was very loudly booed.

We're not sure if Wilshere was a glutton for punishment or if Pellegrini forgot the midfielder was on the touchline because Wilshere warmed up for a good 15 minutes before making his way back to the bench.

Every word Manuel Pellegrini just said on West Ham's historic win at Spurs & Noble's masterclass

Snodgrass shoots daggers at Arnautovic

Early on in the first half, the Hammers were getting a bit overrun and were struggling to stop Spurs building out from the back with consumate ease and getting into the middle of the park.

Robert Snodgrass, who ran around like a headless chicken for 75 minutes, was spotted by this reporter having a right old go at Marko Arnautovic for not pressing the defence as they just passed it from side to side and back to Hugo Lllors.

Arnautovic fires back...

But not at Snodgrass, instead at Felipe Anderson.

With the game at 0-0 in the second half, the Hammers were in the ascendancy and Anderson was off down the left wing and it was two vs two in the 18 yard box. Anderson had to play a simple pass to Arnautovic, who had stolen a march on Davinson Sanchez, but completely fluffed his pass out of play.

The Austrian was furious and and screamed sweet hell in Anderson's direction, who did the right thing and turned his back and ran away.

The incredible Tottenham record ended by West Ham that had nothing to do with the new stadium
