Pedestrian rushed to hospital after being hit by car in early hours

A man has been rushed to hospital in Edinburgh with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Fife in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Broad Street in Cowdenbeath at around 12.50am on October 2.

The pedestrian, a 37-year-old man, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Police Scotland confirmed the road reopened at 10.50am. Officers are now appealing for information.

Constable Paul MacPherson said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.

“We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.

“Anyone with information or footage can contact officers on 101 quoting incident number 0179 of Sunday, 2 October, 2022.”
