Pedestrian injured after being struck by car in Glasgow city centre

A pedestrian has been injured after being struck by a vehicle in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services responded to the incident at the junction of North Street and Sauchiehall Street.

The accident happened shortly before 7pm this evening.

Glasgow City Council confirmed that North Street was closed following the collision.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: “Around 6.45pm on Thursday, 26 November, 2020, officers received reports of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle on North Street at its junction with Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.

“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed.”

A statement issued by Glasgow City Council’s Traffic and Control Management team (TRAFFCOM) said: “Due to an RTC, North Street is closed at its junction with Sauchiehall Street.

“The road will remain closed until further notice. Drivers are advised to use an alternate route.”
