Paul Richardson talks extent of injuries he played through last year

Paul Richardson arrived with some big expectations last year and only managed to appear in seven games for the Washington Redskins.

Sunday, he noted in an interview with the press that he played through more issues than he should have, according to 106.7 The Fan’s Craig Hoffman.

Richardson had a tear in his shoulder, which is about as bad as it sounds for a wide receiver trying to extend and catch footballs, so it’s no wonder in hindsight he admits he tried to play through too much. He had surgery on it this offseason.

The concern with Richardson now from a team perspective is durability. He only played in seven games a year ago and missed 15 games in 2015. He’s played in Super Bowls and still averages 13.6 yards per catch on his career, so it’s not hard to see why the Redskins wanted him.

If all parties are lucky — perhaps including a rookie quarterback — Richardson won’t have to play through any injuries during his second year with the team.
