Paul Pogba slams former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Paul Pogba has criticised the management methods used by former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho by comparing them with the style adopted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Mourinho broke United's club transfer record to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford in 2016, with the Frenchman pivotal in their three trophy successes across his debut season.

However, Pogba was one of the many players to fall out with Mourinho during his time in charge of United, most notably in a training ground row after the player was stripped of the vice-captaincy in September 2018.

Mourinho was sacked three months after his disagreement with Pogba and replaced by caretaker manager Solskjaer, who would later get the job on a permanent basis.

Pogba has praised the Norwegian for his man-management approach and used the comparison as an opportunity to aim a dig at his former boss.

"What I have now with Ole is different, he wouldn't go against the players," Pogba told Sky Sports. "He wouldn't go against the players.

"Maybe Ole wouldn't pick them, but it's not like he puts them on the side like they don't exist anymore. That's the difference between Mourinho and Ole.

"Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, everybody saw that, and the next day you don't know what happened. That's the strange thing I had with Mourinho and I cannot explain to you because even I don't know. So, yeah."
