Ex-Arsenal forward Paul Merson has criticised a number of key Manchester United players amid the Red Devils' dreadful recent form.
United slumped to a shock 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday evening and have now won just two of their last seven games in all competitions.
They face a potential FA Cup fourth round banana skin when they travel to Tranmere on Sunday, and speaking to StarSport Merson picked out eight players who he believes are not performing to their potential.
"So many players are not good enough," he said. "Fred has got better but let's face it, he couldn't get any worse. Anthony Martial doesn't seem to realise who he's playing for.
"I'm not sure Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire are good enough to play in a back four. They suit a three better. And Aaron Wan-Bissaka has hit a massive brick wall. Burnley were targeting him.
"Daniel James needs to come out of the team for a breather because his confidence looks shot, and as for Jesse Lingard- where have the goals gone?
"People say United miss Scott McTominay when he doesn’t play. But how many top clubs are lining up to try and sign him? It’s sad how far United have dropped."
United still only sit six points off fourth-placed Chelsea despite their recent patchy form, but they will turn their attentions to FA Cup progression for this weekend at least.
Speaking ahead of the game against Tranmere, under-pressure manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "On the training ground the mood is still good.
"It is understandable sometimes supporters air frustrations and the last week has seen two disappointing results that has probably enhanced that feeling.
"But, for us, you get used to it at this club. You get used to the ups and downs and as we've spoken about here you've got to get on with it. When you do badly you know you've got a job to do."
