Paul Ferris brands fellow hood Ian Blink MacDonald 'sweetie wife' in bitter spat over 'showdown'

Ex-gangster Paul Ferris has branded rival hood Ian ‘Blink’ MacDonald a “sweetie wife” after being challenged to a showdown meeting.

MacDonald contacted the Daily Record earlier this week and told how he wanted a sit down chat with his former pal in a bid to end their 21 year feud.

The duo are said to have fallen out in a row over money and have been embroiled in a war of words for more than two decades.

Blink, 61, issued a ‘challenge’ to Ferris on Wednesday and promised there would be ‘no guns or knives’ as they ironed out their ‘issues’ on his ‘Blink and you’ll miss it’ YouTube channel.

But Ferris said he was left ‘surprised’ at the challenge from MacDonald and said he would have rejected the offer for both “commercial and private” reasons.

The reformed gangland figure has now branded Blink a “sweetie wife” for contacting the press during a Twitter exchange with his fans.

Ferris wrote: “Unfortunately Blink made the phone-call to the press for whatever reasons.

“He knows ppl I know and could have called me in person and behaved more professional rather than behaving like a sweetie wife.”

Ferris also previously told the Daily Record the duo were set to appear on a separate show hosted by crime YouTuber Shaun Attwood in June.

MacDonald contacted the Daily Record after feeling snubbed by his former pal at the A Night With Paul Ferris: The Final Chapter event last month.

MacDonald stormed onto the stage and took the microphone from Ferris (UGC)

He stormed onto the stage and embraced Ferris in front of the shocked audience.

MacDonald previously said: “I went up and shook his hand, I praised him and everything. Now I’m asking myself if I did the right thing.

“Over the last couple of weeks since the dummy handshake, he’s never made a move to talk to me since.

“But he’s playing silly little games just now on his Twitter and it’s coming onto my channel. “So I’ve issued him a challenge and said why don’t we have a sit down with a cup of tea and I'll supply the chocolate biscuits. But you bring the milk.

“I said you’re the wee man but I was the bigger man on the stage that night. I want to challenge you to come on my channel because you’re still saying there’s issues.

“I can answer all your issues so be the wee man and I’ll be the big man and we’ll get it sorted. Let’s have a showdown at the Ponderosa.”

Ferris has denied that there are any issues between the two men.

When asked if he was a sweetie wife by this newspaper, MacDonald said: “Ferris started this two weeks ago when he spoke to the paper about his falling out with Arthur Thomson Senior. He called me a liar.

“He’s also been stirring the pot on Twitter, setting up a poll and everything. If anything, he’s the sweetie wife.”

He added: “I’ve also been accused of being paid by the Daily Record for talking to them. I haven’t received a penny.”
