Patsy Palmer becomes fourth star to leave Dancing On Ice after tense skate off

Dancing on Ice star Patsy Palmer became the latest celebrity to exit the ice skating competition on Sunday evening after landing in the dreaded skate-off.

The remaining celebrities and their professional partners returned to the ice once again to perform a series of routines inspired by music icons.

They were under the watchful eyes of ice skating royalty Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as well as Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse on the fearsome judging panel.

Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby delivered the news that Patsy Palmer and Darren Harriott had landed in the skate-off following a vote.

The EastEnders star then became the fourth celebrity to exit the ITV skating competition after all four of the judges chose to save Darren, taking him through to movies week next weekend.

Head judge Jayne said: "Both couples this week have shown a great improvement, so it's a shame to lose one of them."

Holly and Phil then congratulated Patsy on her run, to which she gushed: "I've met the best people ever. We've been like one big family.

"Everyone on this show, honestly, it's truly, truly beautiful people."

A number of stars have already left the show, with Love Island star Ekin-Su Culculoglu breaking down in tears last weekend when she became the third star to be eliminated.

The 28-year-old couldn't stop the tears from falling after facing Patsy in the skate-off – which This Morning ’s Phillip dubbed 'the most emotional vote we've ever had'.

The week before, Michelle Heaton was the second celebrity to be eliminated on Dancing On Ice, leaving viewers displeased with the voting result.

One star who was not taking part this weekend was Siva Kaneswaran, who was forced to pull out of this live show due to illness.

In a statement, the ITV dancing show confirmed that The Wanted star would not be performing this weekend, but is set to return next week.

A spokesperson told the Mirror: "Due to illness Siva will not skate in this weekend's show. We look forward to welcoming him back next weekend."

While Siva said: "I'm gutted that I won't be performing this weekend but I picked up a bug earlier in the week which I haven’t been able to shake so I need to rest and get myself better.

Dancing on Ice returns each Sunday on ITV and is available to stream on ITVX.
