Patryk Kilmala's Celtic transfer leaves Polish chief fizzing as he compares striker to £95m Serie A star

Celtic striker Patryk Klimala is being tipped to become as good a player as Inter Milan's £95m star Lautaro Martinez

Polish FA president Zbigniew Boniek insists he is sick and tired of Polish players being sold on the cheap after Jagiellonia Bialystok allowed Klimala to head to Scotland in a £3.5m deal.

He criticised young players from his homeland leaving the country for prioritising financial gain over their careers in the week Klimala left Jagiellonia Bialystok to move to Celtic .

But former Juventus star and Poland manager Boniek insists Klimala has the potential to become a superstar in the making like Inter's creative force.

Manchester United and Manchester City target Martinez, who has been linked with a big money move to England after bagging 18 goals this season for club and country and has an eye watering buyout clause.

And now Boniek has turned on his former club for selling Klimala, who made his debut for Celtic in their Scottish Cup win over Partick Thistle on Saturday.

Boniek said: "Polish clubs have to smarter and talk to their players. Some transfers have been devoid of ambition, logic and sense.

"If you look at Jagiellonia, they should have included a clause in Klimala's contract that meant he could only leave in the summer then he could have helped them fight for the title and he would have been worth more than £3.5 million.

"In a year or two, I think Patryk will be as good as Lautaro Martinez. He's improved so much in the the past six months because he was given game time."
