Patriots WR Josh Gordon had an ‘interesting’ reaction to landing on IR

Josh Gordon’s season with the New England Patriots is over, but the wide receiver could be about to land with a new organization. After the Patriots traded for Mohamed Sanu earlier this week, the team announced Wednesday that Gordon has been placed on IR. Gordon left a Week 6 game against the Giants with a knee injury, and missed Monday’s game against the Jets.

Gordon responded to the news on Instagram, and commented on an NFL report about his move to the IR.

According to multiple sources, Gordon’s injury is not serious, and he’s close to being in condition to play. According to Ian Rapoport, the Patriots will waive Gordon when he’s healthy, allowing him to sign with a new team.

Gordon ultimately didn’t have a breakout 2019 season many fans hoped for, but he was still a reliable target for Tom Brady. On the year, Gordon has 20 receptions for 287 yards and one touchdown, along with one rushing touchdown.
