Patriots owner Robert Kraft acknowledges tough road ahead in AFC East

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft minced no words when talking about the AFC East. Kraft acknowledged the division has gotten tougher in an interview on Thursday.

To say there is talent in the division would be an understatement. In addition to the talent the Patriots have already accumulated on their own roster, the Miami Dolphins added cornerback Jalen Ramsey this offseason on team that already had wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

The New York Jets added a quarterback weapon in Aaron Rodgers that should give a boost to the offense. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills got defensive lineman Leonard Floyd, running back Damien Harris and rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid. They will be looking to maintain their spot at the top of the AFC East.

However, even with one of the toughest schedules in football, Kraft is confident in the Patriots ahead of the 2023 season.

“I’m excited to have football back,” said Kraft. “I liked our draft this year, and I hope that translates on the field. I know the guys are working very hard. I think we have the most difficult division in the NFL. The best balance of teams from all the other three teams are good. So we’ll have our challenges, but I’m really hopeful about this team.”

Time will tell how things play out for New England in what will be a crucial season for the organization.
