Pathaan box office collection Day 5: Shah Rukh Khan sets new record with Rs 58 crore collection on Sunday; scores BIGGEST weekend collection of Rs 270 crore

Records are meant to be broken, and that's just what Shah Rukh Khan seems to be doing with the release of his latest film 'Pathaan'.

The numbers are in and it looks like 'Pathaan' has added some more records to its credit on Sunday when it collected an estimated Rs 58 crore nett in Hindi while having its best day in the regional sectors.

According to reports on boxofficeindia, the film is said to be the first to collect over Rs 50 crore nett 4 times in the first five days of its release. The film even beat its own opening day collection to record one of the best Sunday collections.

After registering an impressive Rs 55 crore opening, 'Pathaan' saw phenomenal growth on the Republic Day holiday, earning Rs 68 crore. Friday saw numbers take a dip to Rs 37.50 crore, only to rise again on Saturday to an estimated Rs 51 crore. Sunday's numbers take the 5 extended weekend collections to Rs 269.50 crore nett.

That's not all, the film earned another Rs 9-10 crore nett apprx from the regional sectors through its dubbed versions.

The domestic collections coupled with the international numbers took the total worldwide gross collection to an estimated Rs 480-500 crore.

Now, all eyes are on the box office to see how well the film performs during the working week. The film can look at a positive start to the week as advance ticket sales for Monday are said to be strong. It must also be noted that there is a drop in ticket rates, which will play a part in the total figures.

'Pathaan' had one of the widest releases in Hindi cinema, as it debuted across 8,500 screens worldwide. Despite protests in some parts of the country, the addition of shows and its popularity in single-screen cinemas helped boost the collections of the film.

The movie also scored the 5th highest collections at the American box office with a total of $5.9 million from only 695 screens.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. The movie also features Salman Khan in an extended cameo.
