Pastry chefs set tiramisu world record with 19,000 eggs and two tonnes of mascarpone

This is the moment 100 pastry chefs set a new Guinness World Record by creating the longest tiramisu ever made.

Stretching an astonishing 1,440 feet, the dessert was assembled over two days at Chelsea Old Town Hall on Sunday (26 April). It required 19,000 eggs, 880 pounds of sugar, 128,000 biscuits and two tonnes of mascarpone.

To meet strict guidelines, chefs carefully covered every joint with cream so the tiramisu appeared as one seamless piece.

“We are the kings of details,” said judge Marco Frigatti, stressing that the cake had to be presented as a single continuous creation to qualify.
